The Trust from time to time sponsors a major event. These include academic lectures and seminars, and symposia of wider interest with papers by authoritative speakers from the academic world and other spheres.

The Sir Harold Bailey Memorial Lectures 2002. A series of three lectures, "Life and Language in Ancient Afghanistan", was given by Prof. Nicholas Sims-Williams at the Moller Centre, Chirchill College, in December 2002. A fuller account of these lectures will be included in our forthcoming Newsletter on this website.

Our symposia are two or three day events, the lectures are held at Brooklands House, andaccommodation is available for those who need it. Earlier symposia include "Living Perceptions of the Past", April 2001, and "Travellers in Afghanistan and Central Asia& the Digitisation of the Photo Image", June 2002. Both were attended by about 50 people from several countries. Our most recent symposium, "The Hindu Kush: a Strange Mixture of Peoples and Languages", May 27th-29th 2003, was also well attended. More details will be included in our forthcoming Newsletter on this website.
